Terms of Use

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a contract between you and Parallel Works, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company (“we”, “us”), governing your use of the Enlightened Parent app and website (“the app”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

Enlightened Parent is a private record-keeping and coordination tool for one family: a shared care log, household notes, and a way to share a chosen, time-boxed view with a caregiver or family member. It is a tool you keep your own records in. It is not a medical, diagnostic, or emergency service.

Eligibility and accounts

• You must be an adult (18+) to create an account. Children do not have accounts and do not use the app.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure (sign-in is by one-time code; we store no password).

Your content

• The content you add (notes, photos, and records, including information about your own children) remains yours. We claim no ownership of it.
• You grant us only the limited permission needed to operate the service for you (store it, display it back to your family, and deliver any caregiver link you create). We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or model training, and we do not sell or share it.
• You are responsible for the content you add and confirm you have the right to add it, including any information or photos of your children.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app to store or share unlawful content, or content you have no right to;
• use it to harm, harass, or exploit anyone, including any child;
• attempt to access another family’s data, breach security, probe, or reverse-engineer the service;
• resell or commercially exploit the service without our written permission.

Sharing you control

Caregiver and family links are created and controlled by you: you choose what they show and when they expire, and you can revoke them any time. You are responsible for who you choose to share a link with.

Not professional advice

The app does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice and does not diagnose. It is not a substitute for professional care. For a medical concern or emergency, contact a qualified professional or emergency services.

Payments

The app is currently free. If we offer paid features in the future, their price, billing period, and any renewal and free-trial terms will be shown to you at the point of purchase and billed through your app store under its terms. You can manage or cancel any subscription through your app store account.

Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred US dollars. You can export all of your data, including your photo, video, and voice-note files, any time from inside the app, and we encourage you to keep your own copy.

Ending your use

You can delete your account any time from inside the app (Me → Delete my account). We may suspend or end access if these Terms are violated. On deletion we remove or irreversibly de-identify your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

If we stop offering the app

If we ever decide to stop offering the app, we will tell you in advance, in the app and by email, at least 30 days before any final date. During that window you will be able to export your data, including your photos, videos, and voice notes. After the final date we will delete it. We will not shut the service down without giving you a way to take your records with you first.

Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; material changes update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, are noted in the app. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
